Coal Boost is a newly introduced feature within the Token Forge that allows token projects to promote themselves across the platform through a decentralized, community driven system. Instead of paying traditional advertising fees, visibility is earned by burning COAL, Token Forge’s secondary utility token.

Coal Boost aligns incentives across the ecosystem. Projects gain exposure, users discover what the community actively supports, and COAL supply is permanently reduced through continuous burns.

What Is Coal Boost

Coal Boost is Token Forge’s native promotion layer. It enables token projects to run campaigns that appear throughout the platform, including banners, cards, explore sections, and leaderboards.

Campaign visibility is determined by a transparent score called Heat. Heat is earned only through COAL burns, ensuring that attention is market driven rather than centrally controlled.

There are no preferred placements, private deals, or manual approvals. Visibility reflects real participation.

How Campaigns Work

Creating a campaign

Only the creator of a token can create a campaign for that project. Campaigns are available whether the token is in presale, bonding curve, or already launched.

Creators choose a campaign duration:

  • 7 days: $10 worth of COAL burned
  • 14 days: $18 worth of COAL burned
  • 30 days: $30 worth of COAL burned

The required COAL amount adjusts automatically so the USD value remains consistent.

Important clarification:
This activation burn pays only for the campaign duration. It does not give the campaign Heat.

Once created, the campaign goes live immediately if there is no other active campaign for that token.

Choosing a campaign template

Each campaign uses one of three templates.

Buy template

  • Designed to drive direct buying activity
  • Displays live token metrics and a clear call to action
  • Excellent default choice to promote buying the token in presale or live

Stake template

  • Highlights staking opportunities and yields
  • Only available if staking is enabled for the token

Website template

  • Allows custom promotional text and links directly to the project website if configured in the token info
  • Ideal for explaining utility, vision, or key features
  • Custom text is automatically moderated within seconds

Templates can be changed at any time during an active campaign without additional COAL burns.

Heat and Boosting

What is Heat

Heat is the score that determines how frequently a campaign appears across Token Forge. Higher Heat means greater visibility.

How Heat is added

Anyone can boost any active campaign, including community members who are not the token creator.

To boost:

  • Burn COAL into the campaign
  • Minimum boost is $1 worth of COAL
  • Each $1 burned adds 1 Heat point

Example:

  • Burn $60 worth of COAL
  • The campaign gains 60 Heat

This creates an open marketplace for attention, where visibility is earned through support rather than granted by the platform.

Heat Decay Keeps Discovery Fresh

Heat is not permanent. It naturally declines over time to ensure fair discovery and prevent campaigns from staying dominant indefinitely.

Decay rate: 2 percent per hour

Heat decays exponentially, meaning the percentage reduction applies to the remaining Heat each hour.

What that looks like in practice

If a campaign has 100 Heat:

  • After 1 hour: about 98.00 Heat
  • After 24 hours: about 62.09 Heat
  • After 48 hours: about 38.55 Heat
  • After 7 days: about 3.34 Heat

If a campaign has 300 Heat:

  • After 24 hours: about 186.27 Heat

A useful way to think about it:
Heat is reduced by half roughly every 34.3 hours.

Why this matters:

  • New campaigns can surface naturally
  • Older campaigns must stay active to remain visible
  • Visibility reflects current community interest, not historical momentum

Heat Transfer and Campaign Extensions

Only one campaign can be active per token at a time.

When a campaign is nearing its end, the creator can extend it:

  • The creator burns COAL for a new duration
  • The extension is automatically scheduled to begin immediately after the active campaign ends
  • Heat carries over seamlessly into the extended campaign

If a campaign expires and the creator did not schedule an extension campaign for the same token, any remaining Heat is lost. This rewards projects that maintain a consistent presence over time.

Where Campaigns Appear

Coal Boost campaigns are displayed throughout Token Forge in formats designed to feel native to the platform:

  • Large banner and sidebar placements on key pages
  • Explore section for discovery
  • Leaderboards highlighting trending campaigns

How Campaigns Are Selected

Coal Boost is designed to reward community support without allowing any single project to dominate visibility.

  • 90 percent of placements favor campaigns with higher Heat
The system uses the square root of the Heat score rather than the raw number. This gives higher Heat campaigns an advantage, but with diminishing returns, preventing large campaigns from completely crowding out others.
  • 10 percent of placements are selected randomly from all active campaigns
This ensures smaller and newer projects still receive visibility and keeps discovery open and dynamic.

By combining weighted selection with randomness, Coal Boost promotes fair competition while still highlighting projects with strong community backing.

Campaign Analytics and Controls

Creators can manage campaigns from the dashboard with clear performance insights:

  • Current Heat score
  • Time remaining
  • Total impressions
  • Click through rate

Creators can:

  • Switch templates while the campaign is active
  • Update website template text, with fast automatic moderation
  • Extend campaigns before expiration without losing Heat

Campaign duration cannot be changed once created, only extended.

Why Coal Boost Matters

Coal Boost transforms promotion into an ecosystem aligned system.

Projects gain real distribution inside Token Forge.
Users discover projects backed by community action.
COAL gains sustained, utility driven burn pressure.

It is advertising designed for onchain ecosystems, where incentives, attention, and token economics move in the same direction.
